Flu diary: Great Pandemic 2009, part 10
Colorado Springs — It is amazing to read in the varied news releases that things have progressed far enough that those suppressing the truth, cannot contain it any longer.
At least some of the truth. Truth is odd in that it constantly struggles to break free of the chains strapped around it. It needs light, the truth does, and not even good intentions can keep it imprisoned forever.
Mutation news is available. Even the WHO is admitting, finally, after weeks and weeks of juggling sly answers and terrified knowledge, that the influenza virus, originally h1n1 Swine Flu, has for more than a month been mutating. Affecting people.
Killing people.
Wednesday, November 25, 2009. The day before Thanksgiving. I am back at work, the third day running, and my cough is worse than ever.
A couple of people actually stop my door and express some concern about the strange barking noises erupting from within my cave, I mean office.
I scan several news stories discovered via Google News.
Unbelieveable. The truth is emerging. Perhaps just a tad at each squeaking moment, but the truth is peaking through.
Hints abounded, while the lies and attempted cover-ups continued during the Ukraine crisis, while media outlets around the world attempted to mask Ukraine in hysteria, all the while with the certain knowledge that a mutation was already running rampant, with the WHO patently denying anything irregular was going on, or going down in Ukraine.
Scientists and experts have been studying the mutations all the while saying in the media: "Nope, nothing new yet, nope, nope, nope, but we certainly will inform you when and if we find anything, yup, yup, we surely will, and yup, trust us, you know you can trust us, we have training and certificates and you do not, and by the way? The flu vaccine is safe, it is better than a placebo, and you should get it today, and make sure to have all your wee ones jabbed as well. Jab 'em good. Trust us."
As if in concert to this revelation of flu news suppressed and finally bursting free into the light, a brave doctor from West Virginia, Debra Parsons, has boldly gone public with the information that she and her family have been infected twice by the h1n1 Swine Flu virus, the first time in a very mild form, and the second infection less than two months later not so mild. She was tested both times and it has been confirmed that she was infected, and then reinfected. Almost humorously, in a iron bell toll of hubris, experts immediately attempted to downplay Dr. Parson's revelation.
Dr. Rahul Gupta, director of the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department said he was "aware of no data or scientific body of research or case reports" proving a person could have the disease twice. - Fox News
It is good that the good Dr. Gupta admits that he is unaware, that the data and scientific body of research does not concur with the going slogans, jargon, propaganda and hypno-speak. Big brother never appreciates the release of true, accurate information, because as we know this can cause panic in the dumb dunderheads that are us, Joe Public.
Still, I cannot but feel sorry for Dr. Gupta, and the other "experts." They do not know what is going on. They thought they had the flu pegged. Wimpy little creature like the common cold.
Have you ever wondered why in the world these brilliant brains of science have not as yet developed a magical bullet for the common cold? Come on, it has to be easier said and done than the flu, right, and the flu is much, much wimpier than yellow fever, and the brainiacs conquered that something like ten thousand years ago. They can cure the flu, but they cannot cure the common cold.
Of course, the reality is, there is no cure for the flu. It is just the flu, influenza, and it has been around for a long time, and scientists — at least a very honest few — admit that they know as much about the influenza virus as they do about the human brain. We are talking about vast, unchartered territory.
Some good news is that great gobs of gooey yellow mucus are now emerging from my nose, as well as that of my children. Even Carolena is suddenly producing yellow mucus, and a lot of it. This is clear evidence that Carolena's body has been under attack from the flu virus, just like the rest of us, only for whatever reason she has not shown any symptom of illness. A couple of days she felt washed out, but after drinking Flu Tonic she felt picked up and well.
What is different about Carolena than the rest of us? She did catch the flu in July, about two days after I was floored by the virus. But even then, in July, she recovered much faster than I did. So, what is different? What enabled her to dodge the bullet this go-round?
Carolena was diagnosed with osteopenia about six years ago, and so since that time she has religiously taken Jarrow Bone-Up calcium tablets, as well as a slew of other vitamins and supplements that I pack in her vitamin case every Sunday morning. So she has received somewhat of an overload of both calcium and Vitamin D for the last six years. There is Vitamin D in the Bone-Up, plus she takes a daily supplement of Vitamin D, plus as a vegetarian (mostly vegan) she eats much, much healthier than most people (but this does not apply in comparison to the other members of her family, since we all eat the same things).
Another possible boon is the fact that for the past ten years and more I have faithfully prepared a tall mug of green tea for Carolena, every single morning, seven days a week. The tea has a bag of green tea, plus a bag of blueberry tea, a good slathering of honey (probably a good two teaspoons, give or take a drip), as well as a dollop of pure lemon juice (I guesstimate a tablespoon). And she faithfully quaffs this concoction every day, and usually refills the mug a second time with water but does not add honey or lemon juice. This daily regime might make some difference.
All these things — Vitamin D, honey, green tea, blueberries, lemon juice — are immune-system boosters. Carolena has been notoriously healthy every since Bronté was born almost nine years ago, dodging nearly every cold that I have suffered through, as well as all the colds and flus that the children have brought home.
Carolena certainly swears by the new addition of the NeilMed Nasal Flush, which I introduced nearly two years ago. She has now incorporated it into hers and the childrens' schedules both in the morning and at bed time.
The stethoscope I purchased at Walmart for about $15 will never be confused with a quality tool or medicinal instrument, but it does work well enough for me to hear what is happening inside both mine and my childrens' lungs. No crackling noises, no clicks and hitches, plus none of the other classic symptoms of pneumonia, including constant fever, eruptions of green mucus from the nose and mouth, as well as (from WebMD):
* Cough, often producing mucus (sputum) from the lungs. Mucus may be rusty or green or tinged with blood.
* Fever, which may be less common in older adults.
* Shaking, "teeth-chattering" chills (one time only or many times).
* Fast, often shallow, breathing and the feeling of being short of breath.
* Chest wall pain that is often made worse by coughing or breathing in.
* Fast heartbeat.
* Feeling very tired (fatigue) or feeling very weak (malaise).
* Nausea and vomiting.
* Diarrhea.
I am still seething whenever I think about the "doctor" visit. To think that trusting parents are being told a lie. A purposeful lie. Not a lie told out of ignorance, but one issued from "marching orders," to protect the public from panic.
When I read about the mutation this morning, and the final concrete proof of reinfection (I mean, obviously if you are reading this diary, you know that I know about reinfection), what do you think I did? How did I react? Did I spring from my desk while ripping the hair out of my head, bouncing around like Daffy Duck or Tigger, a human pogo stick, hoo-hooing, screaming, squealing like a stuck Swine Flu pig, frothing at the mouth like a mad cow?
No. I shook my head. I did not panic. Talk about irony.
Not to mention digust. It is sickening reading all the attention-diverting techniques. Hey yeah, it is a mutation, but we are confident this means absolutely nothing. We know nothing, just get the jab, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can! Just do not look at the man behind the curtain.
Never look at the man behind the curtain. He is our brother, after all is said and done, and brothers love us. He is our elder brother, our wiser brother. He is Big Brother.
Don't panic. We are all agreed there, on that point, as panic does not help. But try tasting a little healthy fear. If a lion is about to pounce on you and you experience absolutely no thrill of adrenaline rush, this is a clear sign that there is something wrong with you (you just might wish talking a little less on your cell phone, or at least switch to the other ear for equal microwaving of your fat, coiled noodle, and you might want to cut out the artificial sweeteners, as addictive as they are).
Be afraid, but be smart. Think. Plan. And look at the man behind the curtain, for your own sake.
